Bit late, but a good tip if you're struggling on Dead Cells is to not get hit
Just kidding, but try to prioritise buying better gear from shops when you're in an area right before a boss, and make sure to have enough cash for a few rerolls on weapon affixes for synergies.
In terms of gameplay, just being good at it will get you much further than having good loot; just play either a normal run and try to get as far as you can, or use the training room to get enemy and boss timings down (for either rolls or parries). If you manage to get hit, try to get a few attacks in to recover health (there's an orange bar that goes down with time once you get hit, that bar is the amount of health you can recover after taking damage).
You can also use custom mode to streamline the whole process, if you'd like
